Purchase of Trans Mountain by the Government of Canada
The NEB is following the Government of Canada’s recent announcement with respect to a transaction involving the Trans Mountain pipeline system, including the expansion project and related assets. The most updated details about the Kinder Morgan – Government of Canada Agreement that the NEB is aware of are contained in filings made with Canadian securities regulatory authorities. As details of the transaction could change, the NEB will not speculate about what the applicable regulatory requirements or processes are. This announcement has not changed the NEB’s focus. We will continue our work regulating the existing Trans Mountain Pipeline to make sure that it is safe for the environment and the public. We will continue to oversee the construction of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project, to ensure that all applicable conditions are met.
