• 89 km natural gas liquids and crude oil products pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia.
• Commission issued Recommendation Report on 7 November 2025.
• GIC legislated time limit requires decision by 7 February 2026.

Powell River Electricity Export Application

• Application for a 30-year electricity export permit.
• Commission recommended GIC designate project on 18 December 2025.
• No time limit for GIC decision.

Westcoast Energy Inc. - Sunrise Expansion Program

• 137 km natural gas pipeline from northeast B.C. to the Canada-US Border near Sumas, British Columbia.
• Legislated time limit for CER Commission to issue its Recommendation Report is 12 February 2026.
• GIC will have 90 days from Recommendation Report issuance to make decision.

Energy Futures 2026

• CER’s flagship energy information product will be issued in early 2026 (February/March).
• Report offers analysis and scenarios about Canadian energy supply and demand to 2050 and is widely used by governments, industry, and other stakeholders.

Trans Mountain Tolls and Tariffs Hearing

• The Trans Mountain Expansion Project Application for Interim Tolls Hearing is currently in abeyance at the request of the Trans Mountain Corp. (TMC) and its shippers to allow time for a negotiated settlement.
• TMC must provide an update to the Commission on the status of the negotiations by 6 February 2026.

Indigenous Involvement in Regulatory Oversight

• Several models for increasing Indigenous involvement in oversight of CER regulated infrastructure being advanced simultaneously.
• Growing expectations for CER Regulatory Framework to explicitly include Indigenous Peoples.
