NGTL GP Ltd. Grande Prairie Mainline Loop No. 3 (McLeod South Section) Project
Project Background
NGTL GP Ltd. (NGTL GP), as general partner on behalf of NGTL Limited Partnership has filed an application for the Grande Prairie Mainline Loop No. 3 (McLeod South Section) Project. The Project will include the installation of approximately 21.6 km of NPS 48 pipeline that loops the existing NGTL GP Grande Prairie Mainline (GPML) pipeline.
The Project will also include the installation of new above ground valve sites and an inline inspection launcher and associated assemblies to facilitate future in-line inspection activities. Temporary workforce accommodations (i.e., a construction camp) are not anticipated for the Project.
The proposed Project will be located on Crown and freehold land within Yellowhead County in the province of Alberta. The proposed Project will start at the existing valve site (GPM10) located within SE 11–053–18 W5M and will parallel three existing GPML pipelines where practical until its end point at a valve site (GPM15) located in NW 20–054–19 W5M.
The Project will require the acquisition of approximately 38.2 ha of new land and approximately 130 ha of temporary workspace (TWS).
Project construction is anticipated to start in September 2026 for a duration of approximately two months, and planned in-service in April 2027.
