Project Background

Enbridge Pipelines Inc. (Enbridge), has filed an application for the Line 4 and 67 Optimization Project. The proposed project involves installing drag reducing agent (DRA) skids and conducting facilities work at various locations on Enbridge’s Line 67 including Edmonton Terminal, Kingman Station, Strome Station, Hardisty Terminal, Metiskow Station, Cactus Lake Station, Kerrobert Terminal, Herschel Station, Milden Station, Loreburn Station, Craik Station, Bethune Station, Regina Terminal, Odessa Station, Glenavon Station, Cromer Terminal and West Souris Station.

The proposed installation of the DRA skids and the facilities work will allow for the increase in pipeline capacity from 800 thousand barrels per day to 837 thousand barrels per day and increased throughput on Line 1 but will not increase the approved maximum operating pressure. Additionally, the proposed Project would connect Enbridge’s Line 4 with Enbridge’s Line 67 at Bethune Station and at Odessa Station. The proposed connections will optimize the Enbridge Mainline and increase throughput on Line 4 without increasing Line 4 pipeline capacity and will not increase the approved maximum operating pressure.

Project construction is planned to commence in May 2026, with an expected project-in-service date in October 2027.
