Westcoast Energy Inc. Sunrise Expansion Program Project – Information Sessions

Westcoast Energy Inc. (« Westcoast ») has filed its project notification with the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) for the Sunrise Expansion Program Project (the Project). The proposed Project includes 11 planned new NPS 42 pipeline segments of approximately 137 kilometres (km), four proposed new electric-driven compressor units, three proposed new powerlines of approximately 34 km to power the electric-driven compressor units, and various facility upgrades at existing compressor sites along the T-South system. The Project is located in British Columbia, starting at Westcoast’s Compressor Station 2 located near Chetwynd and ending at the Huntingdon Meter Station at the Canada – United States border. The pipeline will transport natural gas.

The CER will host in-person and virtual information sessions about our role and project oversight, the hearing process, and how to participate in a hearing. CER staff will be available to answer your questions.

The CER works to keep energy moving safely across the country. We review energy development projects and share energy information, all while enforcing some of the strictest safety and environmental standards in the world.
