Project Background

Westcoast Energy GP Inc., on behalf of Westcoast Energy Limited Partnership, has filed a project notification for the Deadman River Crossing 5 Permanent Erosion Mitigation Project (Project). The proposed Project would be located within the Skeetchestn Indian Reserve, about 41 kilometres northwest of Kamloops, British Columbia. The purpose of the Project is to provide long-term erosion mitigation to the two existing pipelines (6BL2 Mainline (NPS 36) and 6BL1 Mainline (NPS 30)) at the Deadman River Crossing 5 location. The proposed Project will replace both pipelines at the Deadman River 5 Crossing and install bank armoring to mitigate future exposure from flooding. The expected application submission date for the Project is February 2026.
