Project Background

Enbridge Pipelines Inc. (Enbridge), has filed an application for the Line 1 Optimization Project. The proposed project involves installing drag reducing agent (DRA) skids and conducting facilities work at various locations on Enbridge’s Line 1 including Edmonton Terminal, Gretna Terminal, Regina Terminal, Bethune Station, Cromer Terminal, Glenavon Station, Glenboro Station, Hardisty Terminal, Kerrobert Terminal, Langbank Station, Loreburn Station, Manitou Station, Strome Station, and West Souris Station. The proposed installation of the DRA skids and the facilities work will allow for the recovery of pipeline capacity and increased throughput on Line 1 but will not increase the approved maximum operating pressure.

Project construction is planned to commence in April 2026, with an expected project-in-service date in April 2027.
