Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Service Standards Results

This page contains information on service standard results under both the National Energy Board Act (NEB Act) and Canadian Energy Regulator Act (CER Act). The CER Act came into effect on August 28, 2019. As a result, some applications and requests were submitted while the NEB Act was still in effect. This has been differentiated in the table below for informational purposes, where applicable.

Electricity Export Permit Applications

80% of decisions released within target following the completion of the Notice of Application/Directions on Procedures period:

  • Category A within 40 calendar days
  • Category B Within 90 Calendar days
  • Category C no service standard

  • Cat. A Decisions = 12
  • Cat. B Decisions = 1

Applications made under the Canada Oil and Gas Operations Act

Well Drilling Applications:

  • 80% of decisions released within 21 calendar days of receiving a complete application to drill a well.

Applications to alter the condition of a well:

  • 80% of decisions released within 21 calendar days of receiving a complete application to alter condition of a well.

Geological and geophysical applications:

  • 80% of decisions released within 30 calendar days of receiving a complete application for geological or geophysical.

 

Service Standard Results: 100% of decisions released within the service standard of receiving a complete application to alter the condition of a well:

  • 27 decisions released

Onshore Pipeline Regulations and Processing Plant Regulations Audits

 

Draft Audits

  • 80% of draft audit reports will be sent to the audited company within 12 weeks of field work completion.

Final Audits

  • 80% of final audit reports will eb sent to the audited company within 12 weeks of receiving the audited company’s on the draft report.

Service Standard Result: 100% of the draft audit reports sent to the audited company within the service standard:

  • 7 reports sent

Financial Audits

Draft Audits

  • 80% of draft financial reports will be sent to the audited company within 8 weeks of completing field work.

Final Audits

  • 80% of final financial audit reports will be sent to company within 3 weeks of receiving the audited company’s comments on the draft financial report.

Service Standard Results: No financial audits draft or final due. Audit started in 2020-21 is still ongoing.
