Weekly Crude Run Summary and Data
The CER strives to obtain the most complete information. The vast majority of companies have provided this data. The CER continues to work with other companies to obtain their information for the most complete picture. Reliance on the data is solely at the user’s risk.
Crude runs represent the volume of crude oil consumed by refineries. The crude oil is then processed into various refined products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Manitoba, Nova Scotia, PEI, and the Territories do not have crude oil refineries.
Data is provided to the CER voluntarily by the refinery operators, and aggregated into three regions for confidentiality reasons.
Refining capacity is an estimate and fluctuates over time based on several factors such as the type of crude entering the refinery, and the desired refined product mix produced.
