Trans Québec Maritimes Pipeline Inc. - TQM Blainville Pipeline and AV6 Valve Replacement Project

Project Background

Trans Québec and Maritimes Pipeline Inc. (TQM) has filed a project notification for the TQM Blainville Pipeline and AV6 Valve Replacement Project. The proposed project is located in Blainville, Quebec, and is intended to address a class location change from Class 3 to Class 4 resulting from the construction of a retirement complex near the existing AV6 valve site. The project will also address the replacement of a malfunctioning valve at AV6.

The Project will involve the replacement of approximately 400 m of existing NPS 24 Québec Mainline (Boisbriand/Terrebonne section) pipeline with heavier wall pipe to comply with Class 4 pipeline design requirements. In addition, TQM will replace the existing AV6 valve with a new valve and will permanently decommission approximately 40 m of the original pipe section in place at the Michèle-Bohec Road crossing.

The Project will be located entirely on freehold land and will not require the acquisition of any new permanent land rights. Temporary workspace may be required both within and adjacent to the existing TQM right-of-way to support construction activities. TQM will obtain the necessary temporary land rights and agreements prior to construction.

Construction is anticipated to occur between 3 May 2027 and 10 September 2027.
