NGTL GP Ltd., as general partner on behalf of NGTL Limited Partnership - Grande Prairie Mainline Loop No. 3 – Karr North Section

Project Background

NGTL GP Ltd., as general partner on behalf of NGTL Limited Partnership (NGTL GP), has filed a project notification for the Grande Prairie Mainline Loop No. 3 – Karr North Section Project. The proposed project is intended to provide additional capacity on the NGTL System’s existing Grande Prairie Mainline pipeline system to serve intra-Alberta demand and the East Gate export point.

The Project will involve the installation of approximately 16.6 km of NPS 48 pipeline looping the existing Grande Prairie Mainline system. Associated facilities will include tie-ins, crossovers, relocation of an existing receiver at the north end, installation of a receiver barrel at the south end, and open-cut crossings of Patterson Creek and Zero Creek. The route is expected to parallel existing linear disturbances for approximately 99% of its length.  

The Project will be located entirely on Crown land within the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16, approximately 44 to 60 km southeast of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Construction is anticipated to occur between October 2027 and March 2028, with a target in-service date of April 2029.
