Applicants are encouraged to submit their application and supporting documentation online through the CER’s e-filing tool. Step-by-step instructions are provided in the e-filing tool itself. Documents filed through the e-filing tool must be in PDF format.

Applicants must also submit, by mail or courier, three (3) copies of their application and supporting documents along with an electronic version on CD/DVD (.pdf preferred) as official records to the following:

Applicants are encouraged to contact Director, Central and North Team in the Energy Adjudication Business Unit in advance of submitting their applications or if they wish clarification on the application submission process.

Additional approval may also be required from other federal and territorial departments and agencies as well as from other agencies or boards set up as a result of various land claim settlements.

Please follow the instructions on each form to mail or courier the application accordingly.

There are no forms for Development Plan Approval (DPA) applications under section 5.1 of the Canada Oil and Gas Operations Act. Applicants are encouraged to submit their DPA application and supporting documentation online through the CER’s e-filing tool. Step-by-step instructions are provided in the e-filing tool itself. Documents filed through the e-filing tool must be in PDF format.

Applicants of DPA applications must also submit, by mail or courier, three (3) copies of their DPA application and supporting documents along with an electronic version on CD/DVD (.pdf preferred) as official records to the following:

Part 2 of the DPA application may be privileged under the provisions of sub-section 101(2) of the Canada Petroleum Resources Act. This information can be submitted following the Request for confidentiality process.
