Dear Mr. Dodd:

  • National Energy Board’s (Board or NEB) Audit of Enbridge Gas Distribution Limited (2193914 Canada Limited) and Niagara Gas Transmission Limited: (EGD)
Corrective and Preventative Action Plans (CAPA Plans)
    Close-out Letter

The National Energy Board conducted an audit of Enbridge Gas Distribution Limited (2193914 Canada Limited) and Niagara Gas Transmission Limited emergency activities in 2017/2018. A final report was issued on 29 March 2018. The report identified several findings related to the emergency activities. EGD provided a Corrective and Preventative Action Plan (CAPA Plan) to address the audit findings on 27 April 2018. The Board approved EGD’s CAPA Plan on 15 May 2018.

The Board verifies that corrective actions are being implemented in accordance with the approvals through document review and field inspections. Once it is verified that CAPA Plans are implemented, the Board considers them closed. Over the 2017-2018 CAPA Plan review period, EGD demonstrated that it has addressed the non-compliances outlined in the audit findings.

With the issuance of this letter, the Board considers the audit of EGD Activities to be closed. The Board reminds EGD that once CAPA Plans are closed, they are considered to be implemented, and EGD is accountable to maintain compliance. The NEB will verify ongoing compliance through future compliance verification activities.

Yours truly,
